The SalaryDex Data Team

Every figure on SalaryDex is derived from primary government and official sources. No user reports. No estimates from job ads. No crowd-sourced guesses.

How we produce our data

SalaryDex cross-references ONS ASHE employment survey data (180,000 employer records, mandatory participation) with NHS Employers Agenda for Change pay circulars, HMRC tax band tables, and Rightmove quarterly rental indices to produce verified, city-level salary comparisons updated annually.

Our differentiator is what we do with raw salary data: we calculate real disposable income after tax, National Insurance, pension contributions, and city-specific housing costs. No other free UK salary tool shows you what your wage actually buys after rent.
